Information
Nearly glabrous, except the inflorescence. Appears to be an annual. Base of stem procumbent, rooting copiously from many nodes, whence spring clusters of weak stems 2–5 in. long, obliquely erect, very leafy. Leaves 1/2–1 in. long, elliptic or lanceolate, acute. Panicles terminal, and terminal on short axillary branches, pubescent. Ultimate branches of the inflorescence nearly 1 in. long, with numerous small flowers. Pedicels hardly 1/20 in. long; bracts at their base 1/16 in. long, ovate. Capsule and seeds of the genus.
