Information
Annual herb 15–80(–200) cm high; stems often purplish, glabrous. Leaves ovate to lanceolate, 2–10 x 0.5–1.5 cm, base attenuate, margins entire to spinulose-serrate, apex acute, glabrous; petiole to 2 cm long, connate at base. Capitula in glomerules, forming sessile axillary synflorescences 1–2 cm across subtended by small cauline leaves, capitula small, with 1–2 florets, the outer capitula often radiate, the inner discoid; involucre of 2 phyllaries, 2–4 mm long, enfolding mature achenes. Ray floret creamy-yellow, ± 1.5 mm long, rays c. 0.5–1 mm long, suborbicular; disk florets 2–2.5 mm long. Achenes black, ellipsoid, 2–2.6 mm long; pappus absent.
Range
N1–3; S1, 2 pantropical weed.

300–1350 m.
