Information
Herb or subshrub to c. 40 cm tall, erect or ascending, glabrous or ± glandular; stem striate. Leaves 1-foliolate or lower ones 3-foliolate; blade linear to narrowly elliptic, 10–40 x 1.5–5 mm, apiculate; petiole if present up to c. 6 mm long; stipules spinescent, 5–20 mm long. Pedicel 4–10 mm long. Sepals lanceolate to narrowly ovate, 2.5–4 mm long, apiculate, soon falling. Petals pink, 5–6 mm long, obtuse. Style c. 2 mm long. Fruit 4–5 mm long. Seeds 2.5–3 mm long.
Range
N1–3; C1, 2; S1 Djibouti, Socotra, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, S Arabia and eastwards to Pakistan.
Altitude range
0–1300 m.

SOMALIA Thulin & Abdi Dahir 6504; Gillett & Watson 23579; Beckett 1071.
Notes
Awan ad, goroyo kaxaaris (Som.). Lavranos & Carter & al. 24574 from a gypsum outcrop at 7°04’N, 47°29’E has glabrous ovaries and fruits, and white petals. It probably represents an undescribed species.
