Notes
Qabibi, qalaaliyo (Som.). The Somali plant is var. breviarticulata. Var. trunciformis S. Carter, a small tree with an obvious trunk, occurs along the borders of Kenya and Ethiopia. It has not so far been recorded with certainty from Somalia, but may be represented by Paoli 534 from the Juba R. near “Sacu” in S3 illustrated in Chiov., Result. Sci. Miss. Stefanini-Paoli: t. 23B (1916) and erroneously named E. mbaluensis Pax.
