Information
rhizome stout, much thickened at the nodes; leaves 3 or 4 in a fascicle, with some exterior imbricate sheaths, ensiform or broadly ensiform, acute, rigid, usually more or less recurved, 2–5 in. long, primary nerves scarcely more prominent than the others; scapes lateral, erect, rather stout, 1/2–1 1/4 ft. long, with several spathaceous sheaths, the lower imbricate; racemes usually lax and many-flowered; bracts ovate-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, 1/6– 1/4 in. long; pedicels 1/3– 1/2 in. long; flowers small; sepals ovate, apiculate or shortly acuminate, reflexed, 1/4 in. long; petals broadly ovate, subobtuse, about twice as broad as the sepals, spreading; lip strongly 3-lobed, shorter than the petals; side lobes broadly rounded or nearly truncate; front lobe broadly oblong or orbicular-oblong, obtuse; disc very convex, with 3 much thickened and verrucose keels in front and more numerous somewhat verrucose veins behind; sac short and obtuse; column broadly oblong, about 1/6 in. long. null
