tubers oblique, thick, 2–3 in. long; leaves absent at flowering time (not seen); scapes lateral, stout, 1–1 1/2 ft. high, with several narrow spathaceous sheaths; bracts oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, 3/4–1 in. long; pedicels about 3/4 in. long; flowers yellow, rather large; sepals oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, about 3/4 in. long; petals elliptic-oblong, acute, about as long the sepals; lip broadly elliptic, 3-lobed, rather broader than the petals; side lobes broad, with acute apex; front lobe obovate-orbicular, emarginate; disc with about 9 rows of papillæ in front, and a pair of slightly thickened keels behind; spur oblong, obtuse, 1/6 in. long; column clavate, nearly 1/2 in. long; anther apiculate. null
