Information
rhizome stout, irregularly thickened at the nodes; leaves 3 or 4 in a fascicle, erect, linear-lanceolate or elongate-lanceolate, acute, 1/3–1 1/2 ft. long; scape lateral, erect, 1/2–1 1/2 ft. long, with 3–4 lanceolate acute sheaths; racemes 2–3 in. long, dense, many-flowered; bracts linear or linear-lanceolate, acuminate, 1/3– 3/4 in. long; pedicels 1/3– 1/2 in. long; flowers medium-sized, green with purple lip; dorsal sepal oblong-lanceolate, acute, 1/3– 1/2 in. long, lateral sepals rather broader than the dorsal, attached to the foot of the column; petals elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, rather broader than the sepals; lip shorter than the petals, strongly 3-lobed; side lobes diverging, broadly oblong, obtuse or rounded at the apex; front lobe suborbicular, rather larger than the lateral; disc with several rows of small papillæ; spur obsolete; column clavate, 1/6– 1/4 in. long. null
