Information
Small tree. Leaf-blades narrowly lanceolate, up to 20 x 5.5 cm, acute or subacuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, with widely spaced (c. 1 cm) lateral nerves; petiole c. 5 mm long. Inflorescences few-flowered. Hypanthium (including pedicel-like lower part) and calyx together c. 18 mm long. Stamens c. 40 mm long. Fruits pear-shaped, up to 4.5 cm in diam., tinged with rose.
Range
Recorded as planted in N1 or N2 in Cuf. Enum.: 626 (1959) native of tropical Asia, widely grown in the tropics for its edible fruit.
