Information
closely puberulous; branches corymbose, somewhat spreading; leaves lanceolate, acuminate, distantly serrated towards the summit. 2 or more feet high, thinly clothed with minute hairs. Stem and branches furrowed. Leaves pellucid-dotted, 2–3 inches long, in the Natal specimens seldom 1/2 inch wide, tapering to both extremities. Corymb densely much branched; flower-heads 2 lines across. Fl. purple, fading to white. A common weed in the tropics of Asia and Africa. The leaves vary somewhat in breadth and serratures, whence the 4 sp. of the authors above quoted.
