Information
Perennial herb with a woody rootstock; stems erect or scrambling, 20–100 cm tall, branching in upper part, white-tomentose and densely glandular-setulose. Leaves cauline, sessile, lanceolate or elliptic, 6–11 cm long, 1–3.5 cm wide, narrowed towards the slightly expanded auriculate semi-amplexicaul base, minutely serrulate, acute, obscurely acuminate-apiculate, white-tomentose except for the strongly glandular-setulose midrib and main veins beneath, thinly tomentose and glabrescent to green and persistently setulose above. Capitula 2–4, radiate, solitary at the branch apices on short to rather long tomentose and setulose 1–2-bracteate stalks; bracts small, lanceolate; involucre broadly campanulate-cylindrical, 8–13 mm long; phyllaries 3-seriate, lanceolate, strongly laciniate-dentate, tomentose, ± glabrescent, setulose on midrib, inner laciniate-dentate in upper part, glabrous, the longest to 12 mm long; receptacle scales resembling the inner phyllaries. Ray florets female-sterile; corolla ± 20 mm long, rays white, oblong, apically irregularly 3-toothed, 7–10 mm long; disc florets: corolla like the rays in colour, glabrous, ± 10 mm long, lobes narrowly oblong, 4–4.5 mm long. Achenes 4.7–6 mm long, rugulose between and brown-spotted along the ribs, finely puberulous; pappus bristles white, 8 mm long.
