Notes
The type of E. kankolo shows one plant with an upper leaf 3-foliolate but most Zambian material of subsp. kankolo has all the leaves 1-foliolate. E. occultiflorum J.B. Gillett (E. cryptanthum Milne-Redh. non Baker) typically represents a form with the inflorescences hidden but much of what Gillett refers to this is undoubtedly E. kankolo subsp. kankolo.
