A straggling, much branched sub–shrub, the stems up to 80 cm. long. Branchlets slender, the finest 0·2–0·3 mm. diameter, without infrafoliar ridges, pubescent with very short simple hairs c. 0·05 mm. long and longer simple glandular hairs. Leaves in whorls of 4, patent, narrowly ovate, acute, 1·5–6 mm. long, 0·4–2·0 mm. wide, the margins normally slightly revolute but sometimes more strongly reflexed, dorsal surface with a pubescence, often rather sparse, of very short simple hairs, distant glandular cilia along the apparent margin of the leaf and at the apex; petioles c. 0·5 mm. long, pubescent. Flowers in groups of 4–8 at the tips of the branchlets, rather sparse. Pedicels 4–6 mm. long, glandular pubescent.
