Leaves with (3)14-41 pairs of pinnae, the pinnae themselves 3·5-9·5 cm. long; leaflets in (11)20-48 pairs, 3·5-12 x 0·7-3 mm.
Habitat
In woodland of various types (Brachystegia-Julbernadia, Brachystegia-Acacia, Pterocarpus-Alvizia, Acacia-Combretum, Colophospermum mopane); also recorded from Combretum scrub on alluvial soil; often but not always in rocky places
