Information
Dwarf succulent perennial, with a fleshy root merging into a short stem to 5 cm high and 2 cm thick, with the apex just above ground level. Branches tufted, simple, radiating from the apical growing-point, to 15 cm long or rarely 30 cm, 1 cm thick, with shallow pointed teeth to 1.5 cm apart in 5 loosely spiral series, dark green with paler stripes between the teeth. Spine-shields elongated, slender, 5–10 mm long; spines single, to 2 cm long; prickles 2–3 mm long. Cymes solitary, subsessile, 1-forked with subsessile cyathia. Cyathia 4 mm in diam.; glands 1.75 mm broad, touching, reddish. Ovary sessile; styles 1.75 mm long. Capsule and seeds not seen.

Notes
Apart from the one specimen seen, Bally 9443 from “N of Gelib” in S3, the species has been recorded (photo only) from S1 at 60 km W of Baardheere.
