Information
rhizome stout; leaves in a fascicle of 4 to 6, linear-oblong to elongate-lanceolate, acute, with 3 to 5 prominent veins, membranous, 1/2–1 ft. long, 3/4–1 1/4 in. broad, with 2 or 3 exterior reduced sheaths at the base; scapes stout, 1 to over 1 1/2 ft. high, with several spathaceous lanceolate sheaths; raceme about 6 in. long, loosely many-flowered; bracts lanceolate or linear-oblong, acute, 1/3– 3/4 in. long; pedicels 1/2– 3/4 in. long; sepals more or less spreading, oblong, rather broader towards the apex, apiculate, rather fleshy, about 1/2 in. long; petals suborbicular-oblong, apiculate, half as long as the sepals; lip 3-lobed, rather longer than the petals; side lobes obliquely semiovate, acute, 1/6 in. long; front lobe oblong, acute, disc with 3 prominent keels, markedly crenulate in front; spur cylindrical, rather stout, obtuse, somewhat curved, 1/5 in. long; column stout, strongly angled, nearly as long as the petals. null
