Information
Branches smooth, grey, youngest sometimes purple-brown. Petiole 5–15 mmlong; blade fresh green to glaucous, thinly fleshy, ovate to broadly elliptic or obovate, ± wavy at the margins, 1.5–7 × 1–6 cm; lateral nerves 4–6 pairs. Corolla mostly pinkish red to carmine-lake, but pale or greenish at base, green to yellow around vents (through which red filaments are visible when buds are ripe), 6–8(–9) cm long; tube 2–4 cm long; lobes linear-spathulate, recurving about middle. Stamen-filaments inserted 5–10 mm above base of corolla-lobes, red; anthers 13–18 mm long. Berry purple, obovoid, 8–12 mm long; seed brilliant red.
