Information
Stems 8-angled, up to 30 cm or more long and 20 mm thick, rigid. Flowers almost sessile, closely appressed to the stem. Corolla rotate, 7–11 mm wide, inside purplish-grey to greenish-brown with numerous yellow spots and covered with minute, sharp-pointed papillae; tube very shallow; lobes ovate-triangular. Corona dark purple, often speckled with yellow; outer lobes lanceolate, channelled; inner lobes broadly triangular, incurved upon and covering anthers.
