Names
DRIMIOPSIS barteri Bak. [family HYACINTHACEAE], (1870). Fig. 36.
Information
Leaves erect or ascending, linear-lanceolate, up to 20 x 2 cm or more, sometimes spotted. Inflorescence a dense spike-like raceme; peduncle to c. 15 cm long; pedicels c. 0.5 mm long. Tepals c. 2.5–3.5 mm long, greenish-white, all erect. Filaments triangular. Ovary subglobose; style c. 1 mm long, deciduous. Capsule subglobose-obovoid, 3-angled, c. 4 mm long. Seeds c. 3 mm long.
Range
S1–3 tropical Africa westwards to Ghana and Nigeria.
Altitude range
15–300 m.
