bulb ovoid, 3–4 in. diam.; leaves 8–10, contemporary with the flowers, lorate-lanceolate, rather fleshy, slightly glaucous, 1 1/2–2 ft. long, 1 1/2–2 in. broad; peduncle very robust, 3–4 ft. long; raceme cylindrical, dense upwards, lax downwards, finally a foot or more long; lower pedicels patent, 3/4–1 in. long; bracts lanceolate, very acuminate, as long as the pedicels, protruding far beyond the upper buds; perianth dull reddish-white; tube 1/6 in. long; stamens rather de-clinate, much shorter than the perianth-segments; style finally 1/2 in. long. null
