Shrub or small tree to 12 m tall. Leaves 1-pinnate, 3–4(–5)-jugate; leaflets ovate or elliptic, 1.5–7.5(–8.5)≈1–4(–5) cm. Flowers in terminal racemes or panicles to 50 cm long; calyx spathaceous, 2–3.3 cm long, glabrous; corolla white, unequally 5-lobed, tube 3.5–5.5 cm long, narrowly cylindrical, lobes 2–3≈1.7–2.5 cm. Fruit linear, compressed, curved, 17–38(–50)≈1.3–2.8 cm.

Native of Mozambique.
Notes
No material has been seen from East Africa, but the species has been cultivated in Mozambique and South Africa.
