plant 1 1/2–6 in. high; stem moderately slender, villous; leaves cauline, 2, petiolate or subsessile, ovate or cordate, subacute or apiculate, rarely obtuse, velvety, 4–8 (rarely 12) lin. long; petioles 1–3 lin. long; scapes 1 1/2–6 in. high, 1- (rarely 2-) flowered; bracts cucullate, ovate or elliptic-ovate, subobtuse, velvety, 4–7 lin. long; pedicels 3–4 lin. long; flowers medium-sized, dull canary-yellow; dorsal sepal galeate, 3–4 lin. long, with a broadly triangular obtuse limb and a rounded obtuse sac; lateral sepals spreading, obovate from a narrower base, 4 lin. long, with a broadly conical obtuse sac close to and exceeding the apex; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal, broadly falcate-lanceolate, 2–2 1/2 lin. long, outer margin undulate; lip narrowly unguiculate; limb very short, apiculate, cucullate; appendage lanceolate-oblong, subobtuse, cucullate, 3 or 4 times longer than the limb; column short; rostellum broadly triangular-ovate, large, margin reflexed; arms falcate-oblong, obtuse, twisted, about 2 lin. long; capsule elliptic-oblong, velvety, 4 lin. long. null
