plant 10–14 in. high; stem moderately stout; leaves 3 or 4, suberect and sheath-like, ovate or ovate-anceolate, acute or shortly acuminate, sheathing at the base, 1 1/4–1 3/4 in. long; scapes 10–14 in. high; spikes 3–4 in. long, lax; bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, cucullate, 1/2–1 in. long; pedicels 6–9 lin. long; flowers medium-sized; dorsal sepal galeate, 4–4 1/2 lin. long, with rounded obtuse crenulate apex and a broadly saccate galea; lateral sepals spreading, ovate-lanceolate, acute, concave, 5 lin. long, with a short broadly rounded sac about the middle; petals falcate-lanceolate, acute, 4–4 1/2 lin. long, outer margin undulate; lip broadly unguiculate; limb pandurate, acute, 2 lin. long; appendage triangular-oblong, subobtuse, cucullate, rather longer than the limb; column short; rostellum broadly triangular-ovate, obtuse, large; arms cartilaginous, twisted, broadly oblong, obtuse, 2 1/2 lin. long; capsule oblong, about 7 lin. long. null

Quite distinct from the plant figured as D. Cooperi by Harvey, though included under the same name by that author.
