plant 3–7 in. high; stem moderately slender, pubescent; leaves cauline, alternate, sessile, usually 2, spreading, ovate-oblong or lanceolate-oblong, subobtuse, pubescent, 1/2–1 in. long; scapes 3–7 in. high, 1- (rarely 2-) flowered; bracts ovate or ovate-lanceolate, subobtuse or acute, cucullate, pubescent, 3–8 lin. long; pedicels 3–4 lin. long; flowers medium-sized, pale green; dorsal sepal galeate, about 6 lin. long, with a short triangular acute limb and a conical obtuse galea; lateral sepals spreading, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, 5 lin. long, with an oblong obtuse sac about the middle; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal, falcate-lanceolate, acute, 4 lin. long; lip narrowly unguiculate; limb distinctly 3-lobed, cucullate, under 2 lin. long, with rounded side lobes and a longer triangular acute front lobe; appendage linear, obtuse, papillose at the apex, over twice as long as the limb; column short; rostellum broadly triangular, acute or subacuminate, 2 lin. long; arms cartilaginous, twisted, linear, about 2 lin. long. null
