Information
Terrestrial herb 5–15 cm tall; tubers 7–15 × 5–7 mm, ovoid or ellipsoid, woolly.Leaves 1–3, alternate, sessile, 0.6–3.5 × 0.5–2 cm, broadly ovate, cordate, dark green with white veins on upper surface, purple beneath.Inflorescence 3–10-flowered; flowers pink or pale mauve-pink with darker lines.Ovary 9–10 mm long; bracts leaf-like, c. 6 mm long.Dorsal sepal 7–8.5 × 0.5–1 mm, linear, cordate at the base, joined to the petals to form an open hood.Lateral sepals 8–11 × 4–5 mm, obliquely ovate, joined for about a quarter to half their length, each with a small sac c. 0.5 mm long.Petals 7–10 × 2–3.5 mm, obliquely ovate, half-cordate at the base.Lip 4.5–5 mm long, the claw bent back, with a 2-lobed appendage at the point of reflexion, the appendage lobes diverging and papillate; claw ending in a ± round lamina 1–2 mm in diameter with a papillate keel near the middle.
