plant 5–10 in. high; stem slender, straight, glabrous; leaves cauline, alternate, sessile, 1–3, somewhat spreading, elliptic-oblong to lanceolate, subacute or obtuse, 1/3– 1/2 in. long; scapes 5–10 in. high; spikes short, somewhat lax, 1–3-flowered; bracts lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, acute, 5–7 lin. long; pedicels about 4 lin. long; flowers small, rose-coloured; dorsal sepal galeate, with an obtuse rounded sac nearly as long as the limb, acuminate or obtuse, 2 1/2–3 lin. long; lateral sepals spreading, oblong below, narrowed and acuminate above, with a large conic-oblong sac about the middle, 3–3 1/2 lin. long; petals oblique, falcate-lanceolate, 2 1/2–3 lin. long; lip narrowly unguiculate; limb ovate-oblong, obtuse, conduplicate, about 1 lin. long; appendage broadly subpandurate-oblong, apiculate, keeled, longer than the limb; rostellum very large, ovate, acute; arms oblong, 1 1/2 lin. long. null
