Information
plant 3–8 in. high; stem rather slender; leaves cauline, alternate, sessile, suberect, usually 2, linear or subulate, acute, sheathing at the base, 1 1/2–2 1/2 in. long; scapes 3–8 in. high; spikes 1–2 1/2 in. long, subsecund, lax, 3–10-flowered; bracts lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, 1/3– 3/4 in. long, the lower sometimes longer and leaf-like; pedicels 3–4 lin. long; flowers medium-sized, pale sapgreen; dorsal sepal galeate, broadly rhomboid-ovate, shortly acuminate, deflexed in front, 2–2 1/2 lin. long, with a broad transverse mouth, and the sac nearly globose and somewhat constricted at the base; lateral sepals spreading, unguiculate, limb falcately ovate, with an acuminate curved or hooked apex, 4–4 1/2 lin. long, with a broadly oblong spur about the middle; petals cohering with the dorsal sepal, broadly falcate-oblong, 3–3 1/2 lin. long, acuminate and incurved at the apex, auriculate at the base in front; lip broadly unguiculate; limb broadly ovate, cymbiform, acuminate, about 1 lin. long; appendage erect, linear, curved, about twice as long as the limb; column short; rostellum broadly ovate, obtuse, convex; arms cartilaginous, much twisted, oblong from a broader base, obtuse, 1 1/4 lin. long. null
