Information
plant 1–2 1/4 ft. high; stem rather stout, somewhat flexuous; leaves radical or subradical, spreading or suberect, numerous, lanceolate, acute, membranous, 3–5 in. long; scapes 1–2 1/4 ft. high, with several narrow acuminate sheaths; spikes short, lax, 1–4-flowered; bracts ovate or ovate-lanceolate, acute or acuminate, 3/4–1 in. long; pedicels about 1 in. long; flowers large, bright rose; dorsal sepal subgaleate, broadly ovate or suborbicular, subobtuse, 10–12 lin. long; spur broadly sac-shaped, obtuse, very short; lateral sepals broadly elliptic, obtuse, 10–12 lin. long; petals broadly falcate-oblong, incurved over the anther and subacute at the apex, 5–6 lin. long; lip linear, acute, about 4 lin. long; column about 5 lin. long; anther ascending; rostellum erect, 3-lobed; side lobes divaricate and furnished with a petaloid appendage behind; front lobe concave, obtuse; stigma pulvinate. null
