Information
plant 1–1 1/2 ft. high; stems slender; leaves radical, 6–8, narrowly linear, acute, more or less recurved above, 6–8 lin. long; scapes 1–1 1/2 ft. high, with several narrow acuminate sheaths; spikes short, lax, 1–4-flowered; bracts ovate or ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 6–8 lin. long; pedicels 1/2– 3/4 in. long; flowers large, blue-purple, except the upper limb of the petals and the spur, which are pale green; dorsal sepal galeate, broadly ovate, apiculate, with very broad open mouth, 7–9 lin. long; spur broadly conical below, upper part abruptly narrowed, oblong, about 2 lin. long; lateral sepals elliptic-oblong or ovate-oblong, subacute, 6–7 lin. long; petals somewhat curved, about 4 lin. long, dilated at the base in front into a small rounded auricle, apex obliquely dilated into a broad crenulate limb; lip broadly ovate, subobtuse, with crenulate margin, about 6 lin. long; column broad, about 2 lin. long; anther reflexed; rostellum erect, shortly 3-lobed; stigma pulvinate. null
