plant 3–10 in. high; stem somewhat slender; leaves radical, numerous, the lower spreading, the rest suberect, linear or narrowly lanceolate-linear, acute, 1/2–1 in. long; scapes 3–10 in. long, with numerous narrow acuminate sheaths; spikes short, loosely subcorymbose, 1–5- (rarely to 8-) flowered; bracts lanceolate, acute or acuminate, 4–8 lin. long; pedicels 1/2–1 in. long; flowers rather large, bright yellow; dorsal sepal nearly flat, broadly ovate or cordate-ovate, shortly acuminate, 6–8 lin. long; spur obsolete; lateral sepals narrowly ovate from a broad oblique base, with a narrow falcate acuminate apex, 6–8 lin. long; petals falcate-oblong, acute, with a rounded basal auricle in front, 3–4 lin. long; lip narrowly linear, subfiliform above, 4 lin. long; column 4 lin. long; anther incurved, acuminate, furnished with a narrow petaloid wing on each side; rostellum erect, 3-partite, with oblong divaricate side lobes; front lobe triangular, acute, concave; stigma pulvinate. null
