plant 1/2– 3/4 ft. high; stem stout; leaves cauline, 4–6, suberect or somewhat spreading, oblong, subobtuse, spotted with purple, 2–3 1/2 in. long, gradually reduced upwards into the sheaths; scapes 1/2– 3/4 ft. long, with several imbricating sheaths below the bracts; spikes oblong, 2–4 in. long, very dense; bracts ovate or elliptic-ovate, subobtuse, about 5 lin. long; pedicels 4 lin. long; flowers small, pale pink or whitish, spotted with purple; dorsal sepal galeate, elliptic-oblong, obtuse, 2 1/2 lin. long; spur somewhat clavate, as long or nearly as long as the limb; lateral sepals oblong, obtuse, 2 1/2 lin. long; petals subspathulate-oblong, obtuse, 2 1/4 lin. long; lip subspathulate-linear, obtuse, as long as the dorsal sepal; column broad, 1 1/2 lin. long; anther suberect, obtuse; rostellum erect, 3-lobed, with short side lobes and a triangular acute front lobe; stigma pulvinate. null
