plant 3–6 in. high; stem rather stout; leaves cauline, 4–6, spreading, ovate from a sheathing base, acute or acuminate, limb 1/3– 1/2 in. long, decreasing upwards into the bracts, leaf-sheaths barred with red; scapes 3–6 in. high, with short ovate sheaths above; spikes corymbose, 1–6-flowered; bracts elliptic-ovate, acute, 6–9 in. long, margined with red, sheathing the pedicels; pedicels about 4 lin. long; flowers rather large, white, with a few purple dots in the centre; dorsal sepal subgaleate, obovate, expanded and obtuse above, somewhat concave below, 5–7 lin. long; spur narrowly conical, obtuse, about a quarter as long as the limb; lateral sepals broadly elliptic-oblong, obtuse, 5–7 lin. long, spreading; petals oblique, auriculate, acute, 2 1/2 lin. long, with an oblong basal lobe in front; lip broadly elliptic-spathulate, obtuse, 4–5 lin. long, spreading; column short; anther reflexed; rostellum erect, deeply emarginate; stigma pulvinate. null
