Information
plant about 1 ft. high; stem rather stout; leaves cauline, lanceolate-oblong, subacute, somewhat fleshy, 2 1/2–3 in. long; scapes about 1 ft. high; spikes 4 in. long, dense, many-flowered; bracts lanceolate or lanceolate-ovate, acuminate, 6–9 lin. long; pedicels about 4 lin. long; flowers rather small; dorsal sepal somewhat galeate, elliptic-oblong, obtuse, 3 1/2 lin. long; spur oblong, obtuse, two-thirds as long as the limb; lateral sepals obliquely ovate-oblong, obtuse, 2 1/2–3 lin. long; petals obliquely ovate-oblong, obtuse, 2 lin. long; lip linear-oblong, obtuse, 2 1/2 lin. long; column short; anther reflexed; rostellum with short obtuse arms; stigma pulvinate. null

Notes
Only known from the original specimen in Lindley's Herbarium. Drège's specimen cited by Lindley belongs to M. physodes, Reichb. f. Both are distinct from M. prasinata, Lindl., with which they have been confused.
