Information
plant 1/3–1 ft. high; stem moderately stout; leaves radical and cauline, rather numerous, spreading or suberect, linear or lanceolate-linear, acute, somewhat rigid, 1–2 1/2 in. long, reduced upwards into the bracts; scapes 1/3–1 ft. high, with narrow sheaths above; spikes subcorymbose, ultimately subracemose, 1–2 in. broad, many-flowered or rarely few-flowered; bracts lanceolate or linear-lanceolate from a broader base, 1/2– 3/4 in. long; pedicels 1/2– 3/4 in. long; flowers medium-sized; dorsal sepal white, slightly veined with green, lateral sepals blackish-purple on the adjacent inner halves, white on the outer, petals and lip green, dotted with purple; dorsal sepal galeate, obovate from a narrow base, obtuse, the upper half with inflexed margin, about 1/2 in. long, obtusely saccate above the middle; lateral sepals oblique, elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse, with a short obtuse apiculus behind the apex, and a rounded basal lobe in front, conduplicate, about 1/2 in. long; petals ovate-oblong, obliquely acute, denticulate at the apex, with an ample rounded basal lobe in front, 3 lin. long; lip lanceolate-linear, obtuse, about 3 lin. long; column about 3 lin. long; anther reflexed; rostellum erect, bifid at the apex, with oblong bidentate side lobes; stigma pulvinate; capsule oblong, about 3/4 in. long. null
