Information
Shrub 1 m. high; branches subterete, densely clothed with bulbous-based setae. Leaf-lamina elliptic, 1.5–2.5 cm. long, 0.8–1.5 cm. wide, apex subacute, base rounded or shortly cuneate, with numerous bulbous-based setae above, on the margins and on the venation beneath; main nerves 3–5, impressed above, prominent beneath; petiole 3–4 mm. long. Inflorescence terminal, 1–3-flowered; peduncle ± 1 cm. long; pedicel ± 2 mm. long, with 2 caducous ovate bracteoles 2.5 mm. long and 2 mm. wide. Calyx-tube 5 mm. long, 6 mm. in diameter, clothed in bulbous-based setae; lobes broadly oblong, obliquely truncate or emarginate, 4 mm. long, 3 mm. wide, margins ciliate, otherwise glabrous. Petals 12 mm. long, 10 mm. wide, pale rose, margins ciliate. Stamens 8 mm. long; anthers 3 mm. long; connective produced ± 1 mm., with 2 appendages ± 1 mm. long; filaments 4 mm. long. Ovary 3 mm. long, 2.5 mm. in diameter; style 11 mm. long. Fig. 1.
