Information
rootstock very thick, short, vertical; basal leaves ensiform, glabrous, coriaceous, 6–9 in. long, 1/4– 1/3 in. broad; stem very hairy, 1/2–1 ft. long, with a few clasping, erect, lanceolate leaves; flowers very numerous, arranged in a dense, short, corymbose panicle; ovary densely clothed, as are the segments and branches, with soft, spreading, brown, gland-tipped hairs; perianth-segments linear, brownish, 1/3– 1/2 in. long; stamens as long as the perianth-segments; capsule ovoid, densely hairy, 1/3 in. long; seed oblong, discoid, dull black, closely punctate. null
