Names

Information
A loosely caespitose or solitary growing, slender annual. Culms 15–20 cm., strictly erect, glabrous, nodes dark, glabrous. Leaf sheaths sometimes scaberulous, loosely hairy from minute tubercles. Ligule 1.5–3 mm. long, truncate. Leaf laminae 3–6 &× 0.1–0.2 cm., linear, flat, sometimes scaberulous on both surfaces, sparsely hairy from minute tubercles, scaberulous along the margin. Inflorescence composed of 2–4 racemes, 1–4 cm. long, erect, solitary along a short, slender common axis. Rhachis triquetrous, scarcely winged, up to 0.2 mm. broad, smooth, with scabrous margins and basally long white hairs. Pedicels 2-nate, 1–3 mm. long, triangular to compressed, scabrous, scarcely broadened at the apex. Spikelets 1.7–2 mm. long, lanceolate. Inferior glume c.1/10 of the spikelet, rounded, hyaline, yellowish green to bluish purple. Superior glume c.2/3 of the spikelet, oblong-triangular, 3-nerved, glabrous, yellowish green to bluish purple. Inferior lemma as long as the spikelet, lanceolate with recurved margins, 5(7)nerved, the central and 2 subcentrals closely together, glabrous, yellowish green to bluish purple. Superior lemma as long as the spikelet, lanceolate, apiculate, bluish purple.
Habitat
Shallow soil over rocks.
