Information
Stems 6–8 in. long, glabrate. Leaves 1 1/2 by 2/3 in., ovate, acuminate at either end, nearly glabrous; petiole 1/3 in. long. Heads of spikelets rather dense, subglobose, axillary and terminal. Two bracts of the spikelet 1/4 in. long and broad, round-obovate, hairy, shortly white ciliate on the margin. Corolla about 1/2 in. in total length. Capsule 1/6 in. long, hairy on the margin; placentæ rising elastically from the base of the capsule-valves.
