an annual herb, glabrous, shining, 1 1/2–9 in. high, simple or loosely branched; stem and branches slender, furrowed; radical leaves rosulate, oblong, oval or runcinate-oblanceolate, rounded or obtuse at the apex, narrowed at the base, membranous, sinuate-dentate or pinnatifid, 1/2–1 1/4 in. long, 1/8– 3/8 in. broad, lobes ovate and obtuse; petiole 1/3–1 in. long; upper leaves opposite or alternate, often distant; peduncles axillary, slender, 1–3 1/2 in. long; calyx-segments lanceolate, acuminate, shortly ciliolate, 1/8– 1/6 in. long; corolla about 1/4 in. long, less than 1/2 in. broad, with two bluntly conical spur-like pouches 1/8– 1/6 in. long; stamens all fertile; filaments subulate; capsules ovoid-linear, 1/4– 3/8 in. long, 1/12– 1/8 in. broad. null
