Notes
CONSERVATION Widespread; least concern (LC). The typical variety is from South America. Plants with ovate-deltoid laminas (from U 2, Kigezi, and K 5, Kakamega) have been identified as being close to, or identical with, A. cornutum Alston in Bol. Soc. Brot. ser. 2, 30: 8 (1956) & Ferns W.T.A.: 59 (1959); Johns, Pterid. trop. East Africa checklist: 62 (1991). I see no real difference and believe the Alston name to be synonymous with A. theciferum sensu lato. As the type of A. cornutum is from Cameroon I will not make a formal decision regarding synonymy.
