Information
A handsome shrub or small tree; flowers white, very fragrant.
Range
Known only in cultivation; believed to be native of the Andean region of South America, now spreading widely in tropical and subtropical countries.

Notes
[Note: P. C. Standley states in Publ. Field Mus. of Nat. Hist. Bot. 18, 3: 1055 (1938): "In recent years this species has been listed frequently as D.Candida (Pers.) Pasqu., the specific name under which it was treated by Safford, but it now appears probable that the name D. arborea L. is the correct one." I cannot accept this brief discussion as sufficient for a taxonomic conclusion.-H. H.]
