Names

Information
Low shrub 0.2–0.6 m tall, much-branched with opposite leaves and branches, young branches densely white- or yellowish-tomentose, older branches glabrescent, woody, striate, terete. Leaves broadly ovate to broadly obovate, c. 1.3–2.5 cm long and broad, ± densely white- or yellowish-tomentose on both surfaces or more thinly so above, obtuse or retuse at the apex, cuneate to truncate at the base, distinctly petiolate. Inflorescences to c. 9 cm long, axis usually whitish- or yellowish-tomentose. Partial inflorescences mostly with 3 fertile flowers. Tepals narrowly lanceolate-oblong, 6–8 mm, densely furnished with lanuginose greyish-white hairs, 3-nerved, the inner slightly shorter. Filaments distinctly expanding towards the base. Style 3–4.5 mm. Mature capsule not seen. Sterile flowers with stramineous to brownish bristles c. 10–12 mm long, bristles plumose almost to the tip.
