Information
A slender twiner; stems pubescent upwards. Leaves distinctly petioled, triangular-ovate, acuminate, base usually shallow-cordate, occasionally deep-cordate, margin slightly toothed, usually not lobed, occasionally shortly 3-fid, rarely deeply 3-sect or 3-partite with lobes oblong-lanceolate or oblong, 3–4 in. long, 1 3/4–2 1/4 in. broad, thinly membranous, 5-nerved from the base, glabrous on both surfaces or thinly pubescent on the nerves beneath; petiole 1 1/2–2 1/2 in. long, glabrous or finely pubescent; stipules linear, 1/3 in. long, entire. Heads axillary, long-peduncled; involucral bracts ovate, acute, entire, green or yellowish, 3/4–1 in. long and nearly as broad. Stylar column clavate. Cocci black, glabrous. Seed spherical, grey, mottled.
