bulb ovoid, 3/4 in. diam.; leaves linear, glabrous; peduncle very slender, 3 in. long, bearing a single erect flower; spathe-valves lanceolate, membranous, an inch long; pedicel 1/3 in. long; perianth bright red, under 2 in. long; tube broadly funnel-shaped in the upper two-thirds, cylindrical at the base; segments ovate, 1/2 in. long; stamens inserted in two rows above the middle of the tube; filaments 1/4 in. long; anthers small, oblong; style overtopping the anthers. null
