bulb ovoid, 1 in. diam., with a short neck and brown membranous tunics; leaves 3–4, contemporary with the flowers, lorate, obtuse, erect, glabrous, 1/2–1 ft. long, 1/4– 1/2 in. broad; peduncles 3–12 in. long; flowers 2–10, umbellate; pedicels erect, 1–2 in. long; spathe-valves 2, lanceolate; perianth yellow or milk-white; tube 1/4– 1/3 in. long; segments 1/2– 3/4 in. long, with about 5 ribs; stamens half as long as the perianth-segments; ovary green, glabrous, oblong; style overtopping the anthers; capsule 1/2 in. long. null
