Terrestrial herb 10–44 cm tall.Tubers usually 2, c. 1.5 cm long, ovoid.Basal leaves 1 or 2, pale green, 2–16 × 1.5–3.5 cm, lanceolate to elliptic, narrowing to a petiole-like base; peduncle leaves several, reduced, the lowest usually similar to but smaller than the basal leaves, the remainder sheath-like, up to 23 mm long.Inflorescence 2.5–11 cm long, laxly to densely several- to many-flowered, flowers often ± secund; rhachis sparsely glandular-hairy; bracts 8–12 mm long, lanceolate, acute; ovary and pedicel 8–12 mm long, arching, sparsely glandular-hairy.Flowers pale pink or lilac, whitish at base of lip and inside hood.Dorsal sepal 3.5–5.5 × 2–3.2 mm, ovate, acute, convex, the apex slightly recurved.Lateral sepals deflexed, 6–8 × 2–3 mm, obliquely lanceolate, acute.Petals 3–5.5 × 1.5–2.5 mm, falcate, adnate to column and lip at base and forming a hood with the dorsal sepal.Lip 6–7.5 × 2–3.5 mm, wedge-shaped, entire but with slight indentations at the lip, and with 2 small lobules at the base.Spur 3–5 mm long, somewhat incurved.Column short and stout, the rostellum overtopping the anther, up to 1.5 mm tall.
