Information
Stem glabrous, up to 3 1/4 ft. high; branches erect, 12–16 in. long; internodes 2 1/2–4 1/2 in. long. Leaves narrowly linear, 2 1/2–3 1/3 in. long, 1 1/2–2 lin. broad, the upper shorter and narrower, entire or sometimes here and there denticulate, subcartila-ginous along the margin. Pedicels nearly 4 in. long, slightly supra-axillary; bracteoles 0. Calyx 7–11 1/2 lin. long; tube campanulate, 4 lin. long; lobes elongate-triangular-acuminate or very narrowly linear, 3–7 1/2 lin. long, about 1/2 lin. broad near the base, spreading. Corolla bright madder-coloured; tube about 1 in. long and 1 1/2 lin. broad; limb about 3 in. long and 2 1/2 in. broad; upper lip 2-lobed; lobes 8 lin. broad; lobes of the lower lip 10–12 lin. broad, the median about 1 1/2 in. long, longer than the lateral. Capsule obliquely ovoid, beaked, 3 1/2 lin. long, 3 lin. broad.
