Information
Rhizome erect. Fronds tufted, often large, 0.9–3.6 m tall, covered with mucilage when young and coiled; gemmae present on rachis at apex of frond. Stipe pale brown, 22–75 cm long, glabrous. Lamina lanceolate in outline, 0.6–1.5 m long, 20–50 cm wide, simply pinnate, the basal pinnae hardly reduced; basal pinnae auricled; pinnae linear-oblong, 11.5–28 cm long, 1.5–3.3 cm wide, rather shallowly lobed to 1/4–1/3 to costa; lobes oblong, somewhat falcate, 4–10 mm long, 3–7 mm wide, glabrous, save for scattered short hairs on costa etc. above; about 4 pairs of veins anastomosing below the sinus either in a membrane or extending from the sinus or below it.
