Information
Young parts pubescent. Branches 6–15 in. long. Leaves up to 6 by 2 in., elliptic, glabrescent, margin entire or undulate, tip obtuse, base decurrent sometimes to the base of the petiole; petiole 0–1 1/2 in. long. Peduncles lateral, 0–9 in. long; spike up to 4 1/2 by 3/4 in.; bract 3/4 in. long, lanceolate, entire, glabrescent (bracteoles and calyx-segments with a linear scabrous mucro); bracteoles 1/2 in. long, oblong. Posticous calyx-segment 1/4 in. long, or rather more, ovate, 2-nerved, tip 2-toothed. Corolla-tube 1/3 in. long; lobes 1/3 in. long. Pollen narrow-oblong, square-headed, 3-ribbed. Style very thinly hairy. Capsule 1/3 by 1/6 in., 4-seeded.
