Erect slender annual up to 12 cm high, glabrous, often reddish. Leaves sessile, linear-lanceolate, 3–7 x 0.5–2 mm, ending in a whitish bristle. Flowers 3–5-merous, on crowded leafy axillary shoots; pedicels up to 4 mm long. Sepals lanceolate, up to 1.5 mm long, ending in a bristle. Petals lanceolate, c. 0.8 mm long, acuminate, white to reddish. Seeds 2 per carpel, c. 0.4 mm long, ribbed.
