Information
Terrestrial herb 0.5–1.5 m tall.Roots elongate, c. 2 mm in diameter.Stem leafy along its length.Leaves dark green, distichous, plicate, up to 24 × 8.5 cm, lanceolate to elliptic, acuminate, the margins slightly undulate, the base clasping the stem.Inflorescences terminal and axillary, the rhachis zig-zag, often branched, several-flowered; ovary and pedicel 10–15 mm long; bracts 7–15 mm long, lanceolate to ovate.Flowers non-resupinate; sepals green, petals and lip green, turning white towards apices.Sepals 70–85 × 2 mm, linear, curling back at tips.Petals 70–80 mm long, linear-spathulate, 2 mm wide at base, 3 mm at apex.Lip 60–80 mm long, the basal part 2 mm wide, linear, the apex 6–7 mm wide, ovate.Column elongated, lying along the lip and slightly shorter than it, c. 1 mm wide.
